It's a Jersey Thing - Comedy Central
After everything east of the Rockies becomes New Jersey, South Park is in danger of becoming West Jersey.

Kyle informs his parents that Stan’s family is having the new neighbors from New Jersey over for dinner. During the dinner, the New Jersey housewife berates Stan’s mom and her friends calling them all garbage. Eventually, she calms down and explains that “it’s a Jersey thing.”

During a town meeting, Randy informs the town that everything east of the Rockies has been re-named New Jersey. If they don’t stop the Jerseyites from infiltrating South Park, South Park will be known as West Jersey.

During this meeting, Kyle’s mom, Sheila, informs everyone that she was born and raised in New Jersey. However, her Jersey attitude only comes out when she’s around other people that are from New Jersey.

Kyle is From New Jersey

Not only is Kyle’s mom from New Jersey, but Sheila informs Kyle that she was pregnant with him while she was living in New Jersey so technically Kyle is from New Jersey as well. Kyle can’t believe it and begins to dress himself uncontrollably like somebody from New Jersey.

Meanwhile, Randy tries to enlist the help of California and Japan, but they are uncooperative. He suggests they enlist the help of their biggest enemy, Al-Qaeda. Later, Randy and the rest of the town find a “Snooki” in the meat freezer at Sizzler. They are informed it’s from Jersey and very famous. When asked why it’s famous, nobody has an answer.

Later, Snooki begins raping all of the boys saying "Snooki wants smoosh, smoosh." Kyle begins to transform into his Jersey alter-ego and tells Snooki to leave the boys alone. Cartman thanks Kyle for helping him.

Al-Qaeda to the Rescue

The townspeople run out of ammunition to defend themselves from the Jerseyites. It appears that all hope is lost and South Park will soon be taken over. However, Randy sees planes and realizes it’s Al-Qaeda. They crash the planes into the ground killing the Jerseyites and saving South Park.

A ceremony is held in Osama Bin Laden’s honor. However, a Special Forces member rappels from the ceiling and shoots Osama saying “tango down.” Randy then yells out “We got him.”

This episode pushed a lot of buttons. Not only are people from New Jersey going to be upset, but they made jokes about 9/11 and Al-Qaeda being heroes. South Park continues to push the envelope. There are a few episodes of South Park that will make you say “Oh my gosh.” After seeing Al-Qaeda kill Jerseyites by dive bombing planes into the ground, this is one of those episodes.

I think South Park, according to the principles that it has set up, was almost forced into finally making light of the events of September 11. They reflected that after ten years even the most terrible disasters are fair game for jokes, which I think is actually a fairly often practiced rule. But they have also proven that they are iconoclasts and rule breakers. It's been nine years, which means that if they did this next season they'd just be following the rules.

I also think there was a kind of celebration for people who are still troubled by the events of September 11. In the same way that everyone always wanted to see old comic book characters in the 1940s fighting Nazis and punching Hitler in the face, there is some relief to be found in the fact that South Park defeated the most elusive enemy of the 21st Century, Osama Bin Laden.
